Born on September 3, 1964, Jamshed was initially a singer who shot to stardom and became a household name in the 1980s as the front man of the celebrated Vital Signs band.

Jamshed retired from music in 2004 and announced that he was devoting his life to Islam, joining the Tableeghi Jamaat.

He was a part of ARY Digital’ Shan-e-Ramazan transmission and always enthralled believers by his rendition of Naats. Naat-Sharif is one of the most popular forms of poetry among Muslims. This form of poetry specifically praises Prophet of Islam Muhammad (S.A.W).
